Introduction by the authors
The rest of the book is divided into seven parts:
Part 1, including chapters 1 and 2, which give an overview of the topic ‘crisis’, e.g. when an unexpected event translates into a crisis, how crisis reactions can present themselves, and general guidelines for support and interventions after a crisis
Part 2, including chapters 3-5, gives an in-depth presentation of acute crisis reactions as well as more prolonged problems and symptoms.
Part 3, chapters 6-9, describes treatment and interventions from several perspectives: general guidelines, social support, the role of the manager, and professional intervention
Part 4, chapter 10, focuses on leadership during crises.
Part 5, chapters 11-15, describe preventive work in businesses and organizations. Chapter 16 is a concluding reflection on the existential aspects of crises.
Part 6 constitutes references and web resources.
Part 7 is made up of appendices, containing examples of check lists, screening inventories, and other useful tools.
